Osimhen Disables IG Comments After Backlash Over N3m Donation to Bobrisky

Published

on

There is an increasing wave of discontent on social media directed at Nigerian celebrities, notably Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, following allegations that he made a substantial financial contribution to crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky.

Additionally, fellow artist Jazzy has also come under fire from irate fans who have inundated his social media platforms, a predicament that Osimhen is similarly experiencing.

The situation intensified when Bobrisky revealed that he received N30.6 million from various male celebrities, specifically noting that Osimhen contributed N3 million.

In light of the backlash, an examination of Osimhen’s Instagram account indicated that he had disabled comments, preventing fans from expressing their opinions on his posts.

compiled reactions from users on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, concerning Osimhen’s actions. Their tweets can be found below.

DrDanny2030 expressed that Osimhen, who should be focused on his football career and avoiding a premature retirement in Saudi Arabia, was instead spending substantial amounts on Bobrisky during his time in Kirikiri. This indicates a misalignment of priorities. He suggested that Osimhen ought to apologize to Finidi George if he wishes to see positive outcomes in his career.

In response, Davido_Fan_Base remarked that the criticism directed at Osimhen for financially supporting Bobrisky is unwarranted. They argued that it is not the concern of others and that Osimhen’s actions should not be interpreted as an endorsement of Bobrisky’s lifestyle.

They emphasized that Bobrisky suffered significant losses during his imprisonment, and Osimhen’s gesture was merely an attempt to assist him in recovering from those hardships. The commenter urged others to refrain from involving Osimhen, Tiwa Savage, Don Jazzy, and others in their criticisms and instead focus on their own endeavors.

Coroner’s Court Warns Naira Marley and Sam Larry of Subpoena for Missing Witnesses’ Hearing

The Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, has warned Naira Marley and Sam Larry, among other witnesses, to attend the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death or face subpoenas. Following a request from Mohbad’s father for more witnesses, the court has permitted alternative service.

The hearing, which saw only one key witness present, has been rescheduled to September 30, with subpoenas to be issued if witnesses fail to appear.

At the latest court session, only Boluwatife Adeyemo (Darosha) appeared as a witness. The hearing has been rescheduled to September 30, with the magistrate warning that subpoenas will be issued if other witnesses, including Naira Marley and Sam Larry, fail to attend.

Mohbad’s family has expressed frustration with the police investigation, criticizing their reliance on witness accounts and lack of support for an independent autopsy and toxicology tests. They have called for the removal of officers involved due to alleged mishandling, but the Police Service Commission has yet to respond.

Mohbad, who died on September 12, 2023, at 27, has been at the center of controversy, leading to the arrest of his former record label owner, Naira Marley, among others. The Lagos State Police have formed a special team for the investigation and conducted an autopsy after exhuming his body.
