Liverpool Eye Leroy Sane on Free Transfer to Replace Salah

Published

on

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move to sign Leroy Sane on a free transfer to replace Mohamed Salah this summer.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has consistently stated that the current campaign will be his last at Anfield. While the Reds are hopeful of securing a new deal, no official confirmation of his departure as a free agent has been made by either side. However, there has been little progress, with both parties reportedly “far away” from reaching an agreement.

Replacing Mohamed Salah will be a massive challenge for Arne Slot’s side, as he is one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players. The right winger has been their most consistent goal-scorer since joining from AS Roma in 2017, and Liverpool will need an equally capable replacement to mitigate the loss of such a talented forward.

Caught Offside, citing Fichajes, reports that due to Mohamed Salah’s contractual situation, Liverpool are eyeing a move for Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane. With Sane’s contract expiring in June 2025 and an ongoing stalemate with Bayern over a potential renewal, the possibility of a free transfer for the 28-year-old remains on the table.

Sane a good medium-term fix

There are unlikely to be many top goal-scoring right wingers available in the transfer market this summer, making Liverpool’s options to replace Mohamed Salah limited.

Leroy Sane would be a fantastic addition, as he is in the prime years of his career and brings valuable experience from playing at two high-pressure clubs, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, where the demand for silverware is just as intense as at Liverpool.

The German international is a two-time Premier League winner with Manchester City, having been a key player in Pep Guardiola’s side, and has won numerous other accolades. With this experience, Liverpool can be confident that Sane can deliver at the highest level in England.

Arsenal Eyeing Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo

Published

on

RMC Sport reports that Arsenal could strengthen their attack with one of the Premier League’s in-form wingers this season.

The Gunners moved within 4 points of league leaders Liverpool after a 2-1 comeback win over Tottenham at the Emirates.

Arne Slot’s side has a game in hand over Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta’s team must keep winning to have any chance of catching Liverpool for the title.

Arsenal had a strong attacking display against Spurs last night but could have won the derby by a larger margin if they had taken advantage of key chances.

Arteta needs another quality signing in attack, and RMC Sport reports that Arsenal are interested in recruiting Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford this winter.

Brentford are expecting bids in the second half of the transfer window, with the winger valued at £42 million by Transfermarkt. However, the Bees are likely to hold out for a higher fee.

Difficult deal

Arsenal are lacking quality in the final third, with Bukayo Saka out for another two months, leaving a significant gap to fill on the right wing.

Gabriel Jesus recently hit a purple patch in front of goal, but he’s now sidelined for the rest of the season after a serious knee injury in the FA Cup 3rd round.

Additionally, Ethan Nwaneri is out with a muscle injury and may not be available for first-team action until at least February.

Mbeumo would be a fantastic addition for Arsenal, enhancing their creativity and goalscoring threat on the right flank.

The Cameroonian has 13 goals and 4 assists this season, excelling in dribbling, duel-winning, and contributing to ball recoveries with his hard work.

Mbeumo, described as ‘unplayable’ by Brentford manager Thomas Frank, would be ideal cover for Saka. However, Brentford may be reluctant to sell midway through the season.

The Bees could demand over £70 million for the attacker, aiming to capitalize on Arsenal’s urgent need for a right winger.

West Ham and Tottenham Battle for Fikayo Tomori

Published

on

West Ham and Tottenham are reportedly competing to sign AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, according to Caught Offside.

After rising through Chelsea’s youth system, the 27-year-old made his senior debut in 2016. Struggling to secure a starting spot, he had multiple loan spells before joining AC Milan permanently in 2021.

Since moving to San Siro, the Englishman has become a key player for AC Milan, helping them win the Scudetto in the 2021/22 season.

Caught Offside claims West Ham have identified Tomori as a key target to strengthen their defence. They aim to give new manager Graham Potter the tools to turn around a challenging season after a tough first half under Julen Lopetegui.

Tomori is valued at £19m by Transfermarkt and has a contract until 2027 at Milan, putting the club in a strong position to demand a significant fee for his departure.

Battle

The report states that West Ham aren’t the only club interested in the former Chelsea star, with Tottenham, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa also eyeing a move for him.

Milan’s new manager, Sergio Conceicao, is reluctant to lose one of his key players, so West Ham or Tottenham will need to make a strong offer to convince the club to sell.

After spending several years in Italy, Tomori may be tempted by the chance to return to his homeland and showcase his talents in the Premier League.

Tomori is quick, strong, good in the air, comfortable with the ball, and has excellent game-reading abilities. At the prime stage of his career, he would be a smart acquisition for either West Ham or Tottenham if they sign him.

It will be interesting to see if the North London or East London club eventually go head-to-head to sign the Englishman, either in January or next summer.
