Ali Baba, a well-known Nigerian comedian, has exposed the extravagant spending habits of a prominent musician who reportedly spent over N1.5 billion on a lavish lifestyle.

In a recent episode of the Eden Oasis Realty podcast, Ali Baba discussed the musician’s excessive spending following major performances. He revealed that the musician earned N400 million for a performance in Dubai and another N500 million for a different international gig.

Renowned Nigerian comedian Ali Baba has revealed the extravagant spending habits of a well-known musician who reportedly squandered over N1.5 billion on a lavish lifestyle.

This disclosure came during a recent episode of the Eden Oasis Realty podcast, where Ali Baba detailed the musician’s excessive expenditures after major performances.

According to Ali Baba, the musician earned N400 million for a performance in Dubai and an additional N500 million for another international event.

Instead of making prudent investments, the artist chose a life of luxury, spending the substantial funds on a Maybach, other high-end vehicles, expensive jewelry, and extravagant shopping sprees.

Ali Baba emphasized that the musician squandered over N1.5 billion in less than two months. The comedian expressed his dismay, pointing out the many investment opportunities that could have been pursued, such as acquiring land, establishing a recording studio, or developing an event center for sustainable income.

Ali Baba discusses the singer’s extravagant expenditure of N1.5 billion, saying, “I told a very top musician that if he hears this, he would know I’m talking about him. He performed in Dubai and was paid nearly N400 million, then at another international event, he received about N500 million.”

“The next thing, he has a Maybach, another car, and goes on a jewelry spree. In less than two to six months, he’s spent about N1.5 billion,” Ali Baba remarked.

“He could have bought land, built an event center, and set up a top-notch studio. That venue would generate enough income to fund his lifestyle. When it came time for him to get married, he had to rent a hall. If he had built one, he wouldn’t have had to spend that money.”

“Asake wanted to hold his concert in London and applied for a loan of N1 billion, but they wouldn’t give it to him because he’s Asake,” he explained.

He contrasted this with a car dealer who approaches the bank to import 12 cars, easily securing funding. “The dealer brings in the cars and puts them in the shop, where they might sit for six months or even a year without selling. But Asake’s concert is just one day, and he could potentially make N2 billion from it.

“EFCC Explains Money Laundering Charge Against Bobrisky”

Published

on

Bilikisu Buhari, a representative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), testified before the House of Representatives committee investigating allegations against Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky.

During the session, Buhari responded to claims made by social media personality Verydarkman, who presented an audio recording purportedly featuring Bobrisky’s voice. Verydarkman accused the crossdresser of paying N15 million to the EFCC to have a money laundering charge dropped.

In response, Buhari clarified that the money laundering charges against Bobrisky were withdrawn following his court confessional statement regarding naira abuse. She emphasized that the EFCC acted within its legal framework, amending the charges based on the findings of its investigation.

Buhari firmly denied any allegations of financial inducement, stating that no bribes were accepted by any EFCC officials involved in the case. She reiterated that all decisions made by the EFCC were in accordance with the agency’s core principles and its commitment to maintaining integrity.

She also refuted Bobrisky’s claims of a Post-No-Debit restriction on his bank accounts, calling them false.

The committee chairman, Ginger Onwusibe, noted that in the next session, the individual responsible for the audio recording should be present to provide additional context. Despite being invited to present evidence or identify EFCC officers who allegedly solicited a bribe, Bobrisky did not attend the hearing.

The committee has now adjourned the session indefinitely as it continues to probe the matter further.
