A 36-year-old woman known only as Abiola tragically passed away during a contentious buttocks enhancement procedure at a clinic located in the affluent Lekki-Phase 1 area of Lagos State.

This unfortunate incident, which has caused considerable alarm throughout the community, reportedly took place at 3 p.m. on what appeared to be an ordinary Monday afternoon.

Sources indicate that Abiola departed from her residence in Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Ibeju Lekki, with the specific aim of enhancing her appearance, instructing her driver to take her to the clinic where her fate would ultimately be determined.

Upon her arrival at the clinic, the owner promptly instructed a nurse to administer an injection intended to commence the procedure. However, what was anticipated to be a routine cosmetic enhancement swiftly escalated into a dire situation. Abiola’s condition rapidly declined following the injection.

She reportedly lost consciousness almost immediately, and her breathing became strained and erratic, raising alarm among the clinic staff.

In an effort to address the emergency and prevent further complications, she was transported to a hospital in Lekki Phase 1, where she was declared deceased.

The tragic incident has incited outrage and demands for justice, prompting a swift response from the Lagos State Police Command. Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, informed PUNCH on Wednesday that a suspect connected to this grievous event was apprehended on Tuesday.

Hundeyin stated, “The private driver of the deceased notified the Maroko division about the incident. Our officers promptly arrived at the scene, and the body was transported to a public morgue for an autopsy. The nurse who administered the injection to the deceased has been taken into custody, and an investigation is currently underway.
